Von Zippen was formed in 2014 in Ticino, when Faze (vocals and piano) and Hedgehog (guitar) joined forces, soon followed by Rocco on drums and Staf on bass. After an early period of cover songs, the band began writing original material in 2017. A turning point came in 2019, when the band reinvented itself and embraced sleaze rock, drawing inspiration from acts such as Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Kix, and L.A. Guns.

In 2024, they released the EP Ain’t Going Down No More, led by the acoustic single Tryin’ So Hard, proving they can weave softer tracks into their more aggressive sound. This was followed in 2026 by the singles Hit’Em Back and You Have To Run Away, further strengthening a musical identity that blends sleaze rock with heavy-hitting energy.
